General Questions

We serve the entire Greater Toronto Area including Vaughan, Woodbridge, Richmond Hill, Markham, King City, Aurora, Newmarket, Mississauga, Toronto, Etobicoke, North York, Brampton, Oakville and Burlington. Our head office and showroom is at 11065 Pine Valley Drive in Woodbridge, Ontario, L4L 1A6.

Mapleridge has been designing and building premium outdoor spaces across the GTA since 2008 — that's over 17 years of continuous operation and more than 1,200 completed projects. We are an Ontario-incorporated, family-owned business with our entire crew on payroll (no subcontractors for core trades).

Yes. We are fully licensed in Ontario, carry $5 million in general liability insurance through Northbridge Insurance, are WSIB cleared, and are a member in good standing of Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association. All paperwork is current and can be sent to you on request before any contract is signed.

Yes, every initial consultation and quote is 100% free with no obligation. A senior designer visits your property, measures, photographs, listens to your goals, and follows up with a 3D rendering and fixed-price proposal — typically within 5 to 7 business days.

Pricing & Budget

Costs vary significantly by scope. A standard patio install typically ranges from $15,000 to $40,000. A full backyard transformation with hardscape, softscape and one feature (pergola or fire pit) typically runs $80,000 to $180,000. Full estates with pool, outdoor kitchen and cabana typically start at $250,000 and can exceed $500,000 for premium builds. We provide fixed-price written quotes after a free site visit — no estimates that mysteriously balloon mid-project.

Fiberglass inground pools typically range from $90,000 to $150,000 fully installed. Custom concrete (gunite) pools range from $130,000 to $250,000+. These ranges include excavation, the pool shell, plumbing, equipment, basic decking and permits. Premium features like vanishing edges, tanning ledges, integrated spas, swim jets and pool-side cabanas are additional.

Yes. We partner with FinanceIt and Snap Financial to offer 0% promotional financing on qualifying projects. Terms range from 12 to 84 months. We can walk you through options during your design consultation. Most projects also qualify for home equity-based options through your bank if you prefer.

Yes. Mapleridge issues fixed-price contracts. The number you sign is the number you pay — unless you decide to add scope mid-project, in which case any addition is quoted and signed off in writing first. We do not do hourly billing on residential builds.

For your primary residence, no — landscape improvements aren't deductible. However, they do increase the cost base of your home for capital gains purposes if you ever sell. For commercial properties or rental units, landscape investments are capital expenditures and depreciable. We're not tax advisors — please confirm with your accountant.

Process & Timeline

A patio or walkway install is typically 1 to 2 weeks. A full backyard transformation runs 4 to 8 weeks. Inground pool projects with full hardscape and landscape range 8 to 12 weeks. We provide a written timeline in every contract and 97% of our 2024 projects finished on or ahead of schedule.

The best time to plan is fall through early spring — that's when designers have capacity and you can secure your spot in the build calendar. The best time to build is April through October. Many smart homeowners start the design process in January or February to be first in line for spring installation. Pool projects in particular benefit from off-season excavation.

Step 1: Discovery call or live agent chat to understand budget and vision. Step 2: Free on-site visit by a senior designer (measurements, photos, listening). Step 3: 3D rendering and fixed-price quote delivered within 5 to 7 business days. Step 4: Design refinement and material selection. Step 5: Contract signed and build scheduled. Step 6: In-house crew executes with daily clean-up and weekly progress updates.

We minimize disruption. Daily clean-up is non-negotiable for our crews. Heavy machinery is brought in and removed in the same day where possible. Materials are staged off-site or in clearly defined zones. You always have access to your home and we respect your neighbours' property lines and sightlines.

Yes. Mapleridge handles all required permits including pool permits, building permits for structures with footings, engineered drawings for retaining walls over 4 feet, gas line TSSA permits, and stormwater compliance for permeable surfaces. We attend all inspections on your behalf and you only see the final approved paperwork.

Technical & Materials

Yes — but only if it's built right. The key is an over-engineered base under hardscape (8 to 10 inches of compacted Granular A), proper grading and drainage to prevent water sitting under pavers, polymeric jointing sand, and plant material selected for Ontario hardiness zones 5b to 6a. These details are exactly why our work looks identical at year ten when many competitors' jobs are already shifting.

We specify premium paver brands manufactured in Ontario including Unilock, Techo-Bloc, Permacon and Brampton Brick. We never use generic builder-grade pavers. All products carry manufacturer warranties of 25 years to lifetime against fading and structural failure.

Yes. Many GTA municipalities (Toronto, Mississauga, parts of Vaughan) require permeable paving on driveways to meet stormwater bylaws. We install permeable pavers from Unilock and Techo-Bloc that allow water infiltration directly through the surface — meeting compliance while still looking premium.

Fiberglass pools are pre-formed shells craned into place. Install is faster (3 to 5 weeks), lifetime maintenance is lower, and the gelcoat surface resists algae — but you're limited to manufacturer shapes and sizes. Concrete (gunite) pools are formed and sprayed on site, allowing any shape, depth, beach entry or vanishing edge — but installation is 8 to 12 weeks and ongoing chemical maintenance is somewhat higher.

Absolutely. We work around existing features all the time — mature trees especially. Our designers will assess what's worth keeping versus replacing during the site visit and build the design around your property's existing assets.

Warranty & Aftercare

5-year workmanship warranty on all hardscape (patios, walkways, retaining walls, driveways, steps). One full season survival guarantee on all plants, trees and sod. Manufacturer warranties on pavers (25 years to lifetime), pool shells (15+ years), gas appliances (5 to 10 years) and lighting (5 to 10 years). Everything is in writing and warranties transfer to the next homeowner if you sell.

Call our office or use the live agent on this website. We respond within one business day. Most warranty fixes happen within 2 weeks. We do not ghost clients after the cheque clears — our reputation is built on repeat business and referrals, which means showing up when something needs attention.

Yes. We offer optional seasonal maintenance packages including spring open-up, weekly lawn care, garden bed maintenance, fall clean-up, pool opening and closing, and irrigation system winterization. Most clients on a maintenance plan see their landscape look even better in year three than year one.
