The Romanos wanted a fire feature that worked as architecture — not a circular fire pit, but a long linear flame line built into a stone wall behind their seating area. We used a Warming Trends Crossfire burner with smart ignition and tempered glass wind shields.

Gas, in most cases. Instant on/off, no smoke, no ash cleanup, app or remote control, safer with kids. Wood pits are perfect if you specifically want the cooking/marshmallow ritual, but you'll use them less than you think.

Yes — every gas line install in Ontario requires a TSSA-certified gas fitter and inspection. We handle the entire process in-house, including permit, install, and TSSA sign-off.

Pondless for 90% of homeowners — no standing water, safer with kids and pets, less maintenance, no algae issues. Full ponds are beautiful but require active maintenance and aren't safe for unsupervised young kids.

Yes — gas fire pits work year-round. Just drain the water from glass wind shields and ensure the gas valve is accessible. Many clients use them as snow melt on shovelled patios.

Pull the pump, drain lines, cover the basin. Takes us about 90 minutes for a typical pondless install. We offer optional winterization service ($250–$450) or train homeowners to do it themselves.
